Maguey candelillo is an Agave karwinskii. While many believe that karwinskii agaves can only be found in Oaxaca, there are small pockets of Maguey candelillo or Maguey cachetún as it is known locally, in the Zapotitlan Salinas region of Puebla.

Yuku Savi Candelillo from Felix Macedas is produced in San Luis Atolotitlán, Puebla. The agaves are cooked in an underground pit oven, milled by tahona, and double distilled in copper alambique stills. Mezcal Yuku Savi is a project that develops agave spirits through sustainable, traditional production processes, with a vision for economic and social justice. They are based in the state of Puebla, Mexico.
