Van Winkle Special Reserve First Release Lot B 12 Year Old Bourbon / Lawrenceburg Green Glass 1990s
Van Winkle Special Reserve Bourbon Lot B 12 Year Old Bourbon Lawrenceburg Green Glass 1990s- First Release of Lot B
The 12 year old Special Reserve brand was first bottled by Julian Van Winkle III at his facility in Lawrenceburg in the early 1990s, using 1979 vintage Stitzel-Weller bourbon. The first was a one-time release called Lot A. This is the subsequent and inaugural release of the Lot B, bottled shortly thereafter. Van Winkle then continued to produce Lot B (but with the newer label we are more familiar with today), using Stitzel-Weller whiskey until stocks began to run thin in the early 2000s.
The older releases, bottled by Van Winkle at the Old Commonwealth distillery are incredibly sought after.
