Silver Oak Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 1996

Silver Oak Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 1996

Our 1996 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is still a somewhat shy and brooding wine with a crimson hue. Diverse and interesting aromatics offer notes of violets, raspberry, thyme and a faint hint of coconut. On the palate, this is still a structured wine, with strong tannins and a vanilla sweetness upon entry seamlessly leading into a balanced mid-palate with depth, structure and bright acidity. It offers a very long finish marked by dried fruit flavors that linger. Decanting suggested. Given proper cellaring, this wine can be enjoyed now through 2023.

Critical Acclaim

92 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

The dark ruby-colored 1996 Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley exhibits a pronounced smoky, espresso bean, and kirsch-scented nose. Round, dense, rich, full-bodied, and open-knit, its low acid flavors are undeniably appealing. Black olives make an appearance in the wine's aromatics as it sits in the glass.
