Russell's Reserve Single Rickhouse 2023 Bourbon Camp Nelson F

Russell's Reserve Single Rickhouse 2023 Bourbon Camp Nelson F

Russell's Reserve Single Rickhouse 2023 Bourbon Camp Nelson F

The incredible follow up to the first Single Rickhouse Camp Nelson release is finally here. Inspired by the unique conditions of the storied rickhouses at the Wild Turkey Distilling Co, the Russell’s Reserve Single Rickhouse collection explores the often-unsung contributions specific barrel resting places can have on a whiskey’s final character. Each LTO in the annual series features whiskey drawn entirely from a single rickhouse, celebrating the varied nuances of each aging environment. Camp Nelson F was built in the 1940s and is still standing tall on the elevated terrain today. Surrounded by the Kentucky River, but sitting lower on the plot of land than the site of the 2022 Single Rickhouse release, the timber and tin clad rickhouse is known to yield barrels that have been able to breathe more than most, resulting in the 2023 Camp Nelson F release’s robust, oaky flavor.

This release features only center cut barrels from floors 4 and 5 of the 7 story rickhouse. Bottled at barrel proof and without chill filtration this release comes in at 117.6 proof and leans towards the oaky side of things that Warehouse F is known for. Here's Turkey's notes: Dark amber color. Aroma: Notes of oak, vanilla, and cinnamon transition to aromas of cherry, raisins and dates. Palate: Robust flavors of clove and white pepper give way to sweet notes of caramel, orange peel and dark fruits. Finish: A lasting finish with honey and baking spice that gives way to tobacco and mature oak.
