Pierre Marie Chermette Origine Beaujolais Nouveau 2025
Pierre Marie Chermette Origine Beaujolais Nouveau 2025
The Domaine Famille Chermette is a family-run wine estate dating back to the 17th century, located in Saint-Vérand, in the Pierres-Dorées region south of Beaujolais in the Rhône.
Having arrived in 2017, Jean-Etienne Chermette took over the estate in February 2023, succeeding Martine and Pierre-Marie Chermette. Passionate about his work, he is fully committed to producing wines of exceptional quality: Beaujolais white, rosé, and red wines, crus such as Brouilly, Fleurie, Saint-Amour, Morgon, and Moulin-à-Vent, Crémant de Bourgogne, and artisanal fruit liqueurs.
While benefiting from traditional family expertise, Jean-Etienne brings a touch of modernity and innovation, notably by introducing new appellations such as Morgon, as well as new grape varieties like Pinot Noir, Viognier, and soon Syrah. He modernizes the packaging and designs a new logo.
Beaujolais, spiritual homeland of the Gamay grape and best-known for its young-release Beaujolais Nouveau red wines, is a red and white wine appellation just south of Burgundy in central eastern France. As well as its easy-drinking, youthful wines, the region is also home to ten, well-regarded, "cru" vineyards and a number of popular, and even cult, wine estates.
The Beaujolais winegrowing area runs, north-to-south, from just south of Mâcon (neighboring the southern Maconnais), almost 70km (40 miles) to the city of Lyon in the south, on the western bank of the Saône river. It is located immediately south of Burgundy, of which it is sometimes considered to be a part, despite being within the Rhône administrative region.
