Michel Couvreur "Single-Single" Single Malt Single Cask Orkney 1979
Michel Couvreur "Single-Single" Single Malt 1979 Orkney
A stunning single-single almost certainly distilled at Highland Park and bottled by the legendary Michel Couvreur before his passing.
The New York Times referenced this very single cask bottling in a 1990 article,, "There are even single-single malts. A Frenchman who makes most of his living in the Burgundy trade, Michel Couvreur, fell in love with single-malt Scotch a few years ago and now produces something he calls ''Single-single,'' which refers to a single malt from a single cask. A typical bottle of Single-single will note that the whisky was distilled in Orkney in 1979, aged in Sherry butt number 6997 and bottled in Aberdeenshire in 1988. The bottle itself is numbered."
