Jean Marie Fourrier Vigne Comte de Chapelle Morgeot Cuvee CM1M 2023

Jean Marie Fourrier Vigne Comte de Chapelle Morgeot Cuvee CM1M 2023

Jean Marie Fourrier Vigne Comte de Chapelle Morgeot Cuvee CM1M 2023

Aromas of lemon, honeysuckle, hawthorn, and acacia. Fresh, rich, well-balanced, and elegantly textured, this exceptional wine possesses a distinctive character.

One of Gevrey Chambertin’s most beloved winemakers, a protegé of both Henri Jayer and Veronique Drouhin in Oregon, Jean Marie Fourrier is the fourth generation in his family to work in the domaine, and since taking over in 1994 has taken it to new heights as one of the most sought after wines in Burgundy today. His success is built on “the philosophy of doing nothing” as he often likes to say – a nod to his non-interventionist style.

Blessed with vineyards that range from 60-100 years old, Fourrier’s work as a vigneron is almost purely in the vineyard, foregoing green harvest and restricting yields by pruning severely during the winter months and debudding instead. His exceptional holdings include many of the great Premier Crus in Gevrey Chambertin including 0.89 hectares in the exceptional Clos St Jacques planted in 1910. His one and only Grand Cru is 0.26 hectares in Griotte Chambertin planted in 1928.
