Glendalough Pot Still Irish Whiskey

A single malt Irish whiskey from Glendalough, made using a traditional pot still and finished in virgin Irish oak casks. The result is a malty, sweet whiskey with notes of honey, oak and ginger on the palate.

First nose gives a cereal rawness that isn’t the most pleasant. Diving deeper though, this opens up to sweeter natural honey and cherries. Remains earthy throughout but with a nice spice you’d expect from an SPS. Quite an oily mouthfeel with some very green herbal notes. Loads of peppery spice along with that malty cereal again. Medium towards long. Nuttiness moves in but that herbal note remains king.
