Domaine Faiveley Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Les Cazetiers 2019

Domaine Faiveley Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Les Cazetiers 2019

Domaine Faiveley Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Les Cazetiers 2019

Domaine Faiveley is one of the largest and most illustrious domaines in Burgundy, and has made its name with red wines made from the Pinot Noir grape.

It was founded in 1825 in the village of Nuits-Saint-Georges under Joseph Faiveley, a wine merchant who had a desire for travel. In the beginning of the 19th Century, trade had begun between Burgundy and northern Europe, predominantly along the rivers and canals connecting the regions.

Critical Acclaim

95 Wine Spectator

A gush of succulent black cherry fruit introduces this effusive red, along with black currant, blackberry, iron and oak spice notes. Dense, yet racy, with an intense, lingering finish of fruit, mineral and spices. Best from 2025 through 2045.

95 Wine Advocate

Faiveley's 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Les Cazetiers is very promising indeed, mingling aromas of smoky berry fruit and plums with hints of rose hip, orange peel, musk and spices. Medium to full-bodied, layered and multidimensional, it's concentrated and vibrant, with velvety tannins, lively acids and a long, perfumed finish.

92 Vinous

The palate is medium-bodied with elegant dark berry fruit and a harmonious, briny finish that completes this Les Cazetiers with style. I suspect the nose just needs some time to awaken and get its act together.
