Domaine de Trevallon 2022

Domaine de Trevallon 2022

Trévallon is known for its long aging process, more than 2 years for its reds. Racking is kept to a strict minimum, the lees found at the bottom of the barrels continue to nourish the wine during the ageing process.

Vigneron Eloi Durrbach made his first wine at Trevallon in 1976 and gained favor with oenophiles all across France and beyond. However, in 1985, an appellation was created around him and his vineyards, and in 1991 the Les Baux de Provence appellation passed a regulation stating that wines from the area could not contain over 20% Cabernet Sauvigon. Rather than change his vision and his cuvees, Durrbach chose to have his wines classified as IGP, which only served to bolster the image of the man and his domaine.

Domaine de Trévallon is one of the leading wineries in the south of France, located in Provence on the edge of the Alpilles mountain range between Avignon and Arles.

The first vines were planted in 1973 by the winery's founder Eloi Dürrbach, on his father's property. Dürrbach died in 2021 and the estate, which remains family-owned, is run by son Antoine and his wife.
