“Hommage Roger Blachon” is crafted from the Blachon family’s oldest Syrah vines in the monopole Les Côtes St-Joseph, which boasts steep, south/southeast-facing slopes with decomposed granite and marl soils. The wine is robust and powerful, proving that Mauves can be as impressive as neighboring Cornas. The Syrah is 80% destemmed, fermented in cement with cool temperatures and pump-overs, then aged for 18 months in used barrels before being bottled unfiltered.
