Cos d'Estournel Saint-Estephe 1996

Expert tasting note: (1996 vintage) "Medium to deep, darkly pigmented ruby-red color. Aromas are of dark black-cherry & blackcurrant fruit with plentiful chocolate & cedar notes. The concentrated, ripe dark-fruit on the palate is nicely balanced by acidity. Alcohol adds a little warmth & roundness alongside fine, smooth, ripe tannins. The finish is long but the cassis fruit that is evident becomes a little watery to the end - this should fill out with time." - 11/00 DCAMW
