Champagne Henri Giraud Grand Cru Argonne 2013

Champagne Henri Giraud Grand Cru Argonne 2013

The Argonne 2013 by Henri Giraud is the most important Cuvée Prestige of the Maison and can be considered an evolution of the multi-vintage Fût de Chêne, the result of an assemblage of 90% Pinot Noir and 10% Chardonnay, from the best vineyards in Ay, classified as 100% Grand Cru. After the alcoholic fermentation, the wine rests for a year in oak barriques from the Argonne forest, and later 7 more years in the bottle on its yeasts. Each bottle is numbered and contained in a beautiful wooden box with a dedication. To make it even better, a "brace" closes the cork. Intense Champagne Brut, full, complex, elegant and mineral.

Critical Acclaim

97 James Suckling
Tart tartine, brioche, green apple, and hints of ripe fresh herbs. Menthol, too. It’s very direct and powerful with vivid acidity and a dry, racy finish. Tight and compressed with an elegant structure. Linear and very energetic. Turns decadent and flavorful at the end. Shows the cold growing season. Subtle and complex. Single-vineyard wine. 90% pinot noir and 10% chardonnay. Drink or hold.
