Bulleit, the nation's number-one rye whiskey, added a 12 year to their lineup back in 2019 and it sold out instantly. The same 95% rye, 5% malted barley mashbill is used here, and longer aging provides more smoothness, richness, and a longer finish than the standard rye.
The palate is a beautiful combination of sweet mint and dusty wood. The finish lingers long and sweetly spicy. It's my deepest hope that with this release Bulleit is going to usher in a return to sanity in whiskey pricing as this bottle now represents some of the highest quality to price ratios we've seen in American whiskey in years.
